Alessandria Torna Al Centro is the multi-platform app that enhances and promotes the city’s artistic and architectural heritage

An innovative platform offering new services to enhance the city, making the visit an immersive and highly suggestive experience through new technologies. From the graphic concept, with the design of the logo based on the city map, to the project’s communication materials, including vertical signage near ad hoc locations and multimedia tools such as touch screens, ETT developed an

app for smartphones and tablets that allows tourists to choose between three itineraries and types of routes.

An innovative and highly accessible product that, using immersive and interactive reality tools, has the ability to engage tourists, accompanying them through thematic itineraries.

Through the App, the user can choose between 3 routes to be displayed on their device to be travelled interactively, using technologies such as 360° video and image mapping.

The first itinerary is entirely dedicated to the museum tour of Palazzo Cuttica and is divided into 9 rooms with a selection of works and art objects mainly from the Alessandria area.

The second route is a tour through the city, discovering the main tourist, cultural, historical and architectural attractions that make up the 22 POIs (points of interest) to visit and learn about.

In some POIs, the guide is the avatar of Baudolino, a 12th-century Alexandrian, who tells his story following the narrative of his author, fellow Alexandrian Umberto Eco, in others it is the visitor himself who tours the city centre thanks to cards full of images and audio guides.

The alternative gaming itinerary – Play and Discover – allows people to have fun following the route and answering questions about curiosities and information. As a prize, an immersive virtual experience using the visor awaits the player on the last leg of the tour. A 360° immersive video of the Old Municipal Theatre, destroyed by bombing in 1944 and reconstructed in Computer Graphics on the basis of photographs and maps, to be discovered first-hand.

In the immersive virtual reality video, the visitor is taken to the centre of the theatre and can discover it first-hand, while the famous Verdi ariaLa donna è mobile is performed. Meanwhile, you can view historical posters of performances of famous operas, which actually belonged to the old theatre.
