An exclusive service, an emotional experience in Augmented Reality

With Gift Finder, ETT has designed an emotional journey that goes far beyond the experience of choosing a gift. A virtual tool that transforms the moment of choice into an interactive and personalised experience, strongly desired by the Maison to accompany customers in discovering the perfect gift experience.

The online questionnaire, short but targeted, guides the choice of gift in a simple and intuitive way, and at the same time allows you to browse and learn about all the fragrances of the Maison from the catalogue. The augmented reality experience reveals the final look and allows you to discover more than 200 fragrances from the Maison’s catalogue in an immersive 360° mode.

Interpreting the wish of the giver, Gift Finder provides knowledgeable advice to help choose the most suitable olfactory gift for the person in mind.

The project realised for Acqua di Parma involves the creation of a web platform where the user can choose a fragrance to give as a gift in a totally personalised way. To arrive at the conclusion of the gift experience, the user goes through a number of steps through which he or she is asked to detail the recipient’s special characteristics to define the type of personality best suited to a specific gift. At the end of the selections, the user views the proposed product, presented through an exclusive emotional video. A summary page allows you to download the pdf with all the product details, while another page allows you to view the digital catalogue, virtually bringing all the benefits of customised products to your home.

The new Gift Finder offers an evocative virtual account of the different possibilities of gift customisation, such as monogram engraving on fragrance bottles or hot stamping of initials on the Maison’s iconic Acqua di Parma yellow hatboxes.

From a technological point of view, at the heart of the Gift Finder is the decision tree, software governed by a sophisticated algorithm. It is a complex ‘tree’ structure that subdivides about 250 products by category, price range, genre, preference.

In addition, eighteen photographs were taken for each product (in order to realise the 360° experience), the 3D scanner was used to read the shape/structure of the product, and further processing was carried out on the surface texture.
