Il progetto
The Eco Delivery Genua Waterfront project aims to develop sustainable urban logistics processes in Genoa’s Old Port area at a time when e-commerce is constantly expanding, which if not properly managed can have negative impacts on congestion and city air quality.
Innovative solutions will be designed for urban logistics processes that are able to reduce the negative impacts on the environment, urban quality and livability of the city.
The integration of innovative technologies will enable constant monitoring of the product delivery and sorting system, and process analysis for subsequent optimization. In addition, a sorting center will be identified that will be an urban distribution logistics center for the optimized management of parcel pickup, delivery, and sorting within the Old Port, eliminating the access of traditional delivery vehicles to the area.
Project site: in progress
Feature
- Communication platforms
- Vehicle tracking
- Predictive system of green logistics in restricted traffic zones
- Sustainable means of transportation
What ETT is specialised about
In the project, ETT, with a proven track record in creating dashboards and control and return dashboards, will implement an integrated dashboard. The latter allows the reading of data from logistics services, with integration of intelligent control mechanisms, and data on air quality, presence and movement of logistics-related flows within the area to understand the impacts that services have on the urban context. ETT, in this way, will expand its expertise and develop tools to implement this new integrated management model.
Antivities
Cutting-edge green methodologies and innovative technologies such as IoT, Big Data Analysis and Decision Support Systems (DSS) and use of environmentally friendly means and tools will be implemented in the delivery, warehousing and distribution phases of goods, which will ensure sustainable and optimized logistics processes, minimizing their negative impact on the environment.
Optimized freight flows and efficient and organized delivery systems in the area will have significant impacts in Genoa’s Old Port area and the fabric of the city:
- Improved safety and urban livability
- Reduction of accident risks due to transporter/pedestrian interference
- Abatement of CO2 emissions, improvement of air quality and noise reduction
- Integration of urban logistics and flow control and monitoring technologies
- Decreased road congestion/traffic in the neighboring urban area
- Increased reputational image of the area in creating a more sustainable City
- Growth, stability and financial opportunities
