From July 22 to 31, the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste hosted a seven-day summer school on Polar Climates: Theoretical, Observational and Modelling Advances.
The summer school activities highlighted the interactions between the cryosphere, ocean, and atmosphere in polar regions and the impact of ongoing changes in these regions on regional and global climate. For each topic covered, both the Arctic and Antarctic regions were discussed by prominent experts who highlighted the similarities and differences between these areas.
On July 23, Giulia Dapueto, R&D Project Manager at ETT, also participated remotely with a speech titled “Data management: EMODnet and SOOSmap” focusing on ETT’s contribution to EMODnet Physics, which she coordinates, and SOOSMap in environmental data management.
