The EuroSea project Royal Belgium Institute of Natural Sciences 27 to 29 November 2019 at the Royal Belgium Institute of Natural Sciences.EuroSea is a European project funded by the European Commission with €12.6 million through the EU Horizon 2020 Programme, as part of the Blue Growth call Innovation Action (BG-07-2019-2020).
The objective of the project is to improve and integrate the European ocean and sea observation systems with climateprediction systems in order to offer end users (public authorities, policy makers, universities, research centres, marine industries and society as a whole) aservice that observes the marine environment and forecasts climatological parameters to foster a sustainable use of the oceans.

The project will last four years and will be implemented by an international, multidisciplinary partnership of 55 public and private organisations, including governmental and intergovernmental agencies, research institutes and ICT industries, from 13 European countries, Canada and Brazil. The project is coordinated by the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research (Kiel, Germany) and also involves ETT, leading Italian company in the development of information systems.

ETT will contribute to the development and integration of the observation networks, offering the project its expertise in the development of marine physical data management platforms, gained over the years through the coordination and implementation of the European EMODnet Physics Programme (European Marine Observations Data Network, Lotto Physics) and, as a partner, through the development of the Dissemination Unit CMEMS (Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service).
