RAISE
RAISE is a PNRR – Next Generation EU – project that develops the Liguria Region’s Ecosystem for Innovation through scientific research and technological development of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics solutions. RAISE is organised according to the Hub & Spoke governance system and is divided into 5 areas of intervention on individual themes:
- Spoke 1: design and development of technologies for the inclusive use of the urban and domestic environment
- Spoke 2: development of robotic systems, prostheses, exoskeletons, devices and intelligent environments for personal care, including remote care
- Spoke 3: development of robotic systems, techniques for energy storage and distribution, and systems for monitoring and preventing natural and man-made hazards
- Spoke 4: monitoring and simulation systems, robotic and AI technologies for logistics and security in the port and marine environment
- Spoke 5: Market transfer of knowledge generated by the ecosystem
RAISE builds on the competences of leading research institutes (CNR, University of Genoa and the Italian Institute of Technology) and a core group of highly innovative partner companies. ETT is a partner in RAISE and plays a key role in three (1-3-5) of the five focus areas in which the ecosystem is articulated.
SPOKE 1 – Urban technologies for inclusive inclusion
ETT contributes to Spoke 1 by implementing solutions to make the city more accessible to citizens, including those with physical and/or sensory difficulties.
To respond to user needs and test the technologies to be implemented, four demonstrators have been identified, areas where a group of citizens can test solutions to understand whether they meet their needs correctly:
- Mobility
- School
- Park
- Culture
Projects in which ETT is involved:
Finding the way: web app for creating customised routes.
RAISE TUA app: mobile app for reporting anomalies in the city.
Hand Test System: sensorised glove for assessing fine hand movements.
Sensorised learning objects: sensorised reproduction of learning objects for blind or visually impaired children.
Content Management System (CMS) and Mobile App for user status assessment: identifying the status of users by assigning them tasks such as questionnaires.
Spoke 3 – Environmental protection and care
In Spoke 3 ETT is currently involved in 8 out of 11 projects.
ETT provides extensive experience gained in international contexts in the management, harmonisation and standardisation of environmental data, in the development of decision support solutions and in the integration and representation of predictive mathematical models.
Its contribution also consists in the study of methods and tools for processing and synthesising multi-source and multi-dimensional data.
Projects 1, 6, 7 and 11 contribute to the goals of the UN Ocean Decade, the 10-year programme (2021-2030) that promotes ocean sustainability through initiatives, collaborations and innovative solutions to protect the Blue Planet.
ETT is also responsible for Spoke 3 technology transfer.
Project 1: Advanced technology platforms for monitoring and forecasting marine phenomena
Project 2: Technologies for the improvement of air quality monitoring and forecasting tools
Project 3: Technologies for the advancement of monitoring and forecasting of seismic phenomena Project 4: Technologies for the improvement of environmental monitoring and hydrogeological instability
Project 5: Advanced technologies and robotic solutions for precision agriculture and land management
Project 6: Advanced technologies for coastal erosion
Project 7: Technologically assisted ecotoxicological tools
Project 11: Development of technologically assisted Citizen Science systems
ETT is also developing a Decision Support Information System for multidimensional navigation of monitoring and forecasting data and products. The platform enables the integration of diffuse and multi-source environmental monitoring data.
Spoke 5 – Knowledge and technology transfer
ETT as a Spoke 5 partner is dedicated to project management, set-up and communication and PR of the flagship RAISE events.
OCEAN DATA WEEK (Ocean Race): ETT organised the ‘Smart Blue Sustainable Cities’ panel as part of the Ocean Data Week schedule where the RAISE ecosystem was presented to the audience.
RAISE VILLAGE – Science Festival 2023 and 2024: Collaboration between ETT and the Science Festival Association. ETT designed the set-up of the RAISE VILLAGE, the RAISE-themed space within the Science Festival schedule.
Robot Valley Genova 2024: Event managed by ETT.
Activities: event organisation, architectural design of the spaces, set up, production of graphic material, communication material, website development and management, press office, hospitality, event management.
