The project
SInISA: Integrated Screening and Data Governance System Based on Markers of Aging and Prediction of Development of Hemato-oncological and Cardiovascular Diseases in the Adult/Elderly Population
The SInISA project is proposed as an integrated screening system for the prevention and early detection of hemato-oncological and cardiovascular diseases in the adult/elderly population. The aging population and the occurrence of hemato-oncologic (AML – Acute Myeloid Leukemia) and cardiovascular diseases in the adult/elderly population, over 50, is a crucial topic for the scientific community and is the focus of biomedical research. The SInISA project through a screening system aims to prevent these diseases by detecting clonal hematopoiesis years earlier, a phenomenon typical of advanced age and associated with aging, in which mutations occur in certain genes in certain blood cells.
See the Project website
Activities
Three pivotal elements of the project:
- Genomic Screening: detects clonal hematopoiesis that results in mutation of blood cells in later life favoring the onset of hemato-oncological and cardiovascular diseases.
- Prevention: screening as the cornerstone of Secondary Prevention, that is, the set of activities and interventions to diagnose diseases early when they are still in the asymptomatic stage.
- Use of cutting-edge technologies: medical practice joined by innovative tools and technologies such as Data Governance, NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) systems, interoperable infrastructure, cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.
Features
This is an organizational model to support screening that supports the health service in the transition from clinical trials to patient care and intake through the integration of:
- Data Governance
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) systems
- Interoperable infrastructures
- Cybersecurity
Products and services are made available to support prevention, education, screening, early detection, and management of health care facilities and systems.
