A new area designed, built and curated to emphasise the centrality of cultural heritage
Visitors of the Museum Center of Federico II University in Naples can now enjoy two new innovative experiences that will complement the educational offering that the Centre has been carrying out for over 20 years.
Dig and Learn (Scava e impara) is a great opportunity for young children to play the role of palaeontologists. An exhibit consisting of two containers with some casts of finds in the Museum of Palaeontology is dedicated to young visitors. Thanks to the element of play, they are able, while having fun, to search for casts of archaeological finds in the Museum of Palaeontology with appropriate tools. Once traced ‘the fossil’, the associated NFT tag will will activate in-depth multimedia content visible on the room’s monitors.
An atmospheric corridor lined with lightboxes, backlit panels showing an artefact from each museum, leads to the ‘Virtual Reality’ room where the second experience will take place.
Virtual Reality is the protagonist of the second hall: a totally immersive environment with eight stations equipped with VR visors that transport the visitor entirely into a 3D multimedia experience.
