The project
Next Waterfront consists of the development of an integrated monitoring, forecasting, decision support and risk management system for Genoa’s Levante Waterfront, a deeply evolving area where boating, sports, commerce and residential complexes intersect. The innovative solutions implemented aim to benefit the managers of the area and the quality of life of the users of the new Waterfront.
Sustainable production processes and monitoring of environmental conditions and their evolution over time will ensure better management and enhancement of the Waterfront through safety and mitigation of anthropogenic environmental risks.
Sustainability is accompanied by innovative and cutting-edge methodologies and technologies; in fact, Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning, fixed sensors and devices are used to ensure urban, territorial, building and infrastructure security to ensure the quality of processes.
The target audience will be the managers of the Marina Fiera di Genova area and the Jean Nouvel Pavilion and the end users who frequent the area as citizens, tourists, residents or business owners.
Next Waterfront also promotes effective public-private collaboration through the application of technological solutions that can improve the quality of life of users and make the area more competitive.

Activities
The project is developed as part of the transformation of the new Levante Waterfront by taking DSH2030 (Digital Sustainable Harbour) as a starting point.
It is planned to create a digital twin of the area under consideration to understand how buildings and spaces in the Waterfront are used and what are the relationships between indoor and outdoor spaces and the level of accessibility and connection with the city system.
The role of ETT
In the project, ETT, with a proven track record in creating dashboards and control and return dashboards, will implement an integrated dashboard. The latter allows the reading of data from logistics services, with integration of intelligent control mechanisms, and data on air quality, presence and movement of logistics-related flows within the area to understand the impacts that services have on the urban context. ETT, in this way, will expand its expertise and develop tools to implement this new integrated management model.
