An interactive and engaging space designed to foster learning and collaboration within a shared digital setting

The immersive virtual environment developed by ETT for educational purposes is designed to integrate advanced technologies into academic and training contexts. The project involves the creation of a fully navigable 3D classroom, faithfully modeled after a traditional educational space and accessible remotely via desktop or Meta Quest 3 VR headsets. The environment allows students and teachers to participate in lessons and practical exercises in a dynamic, interactive, and collaborative way.

Each participant is represented by an avatar, enabling natural interaction with both the environment and other users. The system supports two modes: an active mode, where users can directly engage in activities, and a spectator mode, which allows users to observe from another participant’s point of view—such as a teacher or a student involved in a hands-on task.

The environment includes a suite of multimedia tools tailored for teaching, such as a virtual whiteboard for drawing, writing, and sharing notes in real time; a virtual screen for viewing PDF documents, which can be browsed and annotated during lessons; and a multimedia table designed for the collaborative exploration of maps, plans, and geographic layouts. Completing the experience is a 3D model viewer, ideal for observing and analyzing complex objects, such as rock formations or structural elements.
