The Project
The ECHOES project aims to establish the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), a platform designed to facilitate collaboration among heritage professionals and researchers. This platform will provide access to data, scientific and training resources, and digital tools, developed by the heritage community to meet specific requirements. ECHOES integrates fragmented communities within the Cultural Heritage sector, creating a unified environment that supports the digital transformation of both tangible and intangible assets, enabling interaction, manipulation, and enrichment of Digital Twins for creating semantically rich and collectively produced “heritage of tomorrow.”
ECHOES sets itself apart by promoting a holistic approach to the digital transformation of cultural heritage, moving beyond mere digitization to fostering new scientific knowledge through collaborative tools. The project aligns with other European initiatives to avoid duplication and leverages a diverse consortium representing over 1000 organizations in Europe. By integrating the results of EU and national projects and maintaining a sustainable inclusive legal entity, ECHOES aims to create a robust pan-European network of stakeholders, ensuring continuous collaboration and innovation in cultural heritage preservation and accessibility.

Activities
The ECHOES project is structured around four main pillars: Communities, Knowledge, Innovation, and Sustainability, with an additional Transversal pillar. The Communities Pillar focuses on building and organizing the ECCCH community, providing training for adopting Digital Commons. The Knowledge Pillar develops the cloud infrastructure and organizes knowledge for the digital continuum. The Innovation Pillar creates vertical applications and ensures the ecosystem’s health through continuous assessment. The Sustainability Pillar ensures the cloud’s long-term viability, and the Transversal Pillar handles management, communication, and integration across various projects.

Our contributions
ETT will focus on the dissemination and exploitation activities of the ECHOES project. They will develop strategies for engaging with the broader cultural heritage community and ensuring that the project’s outputs are widely adopted and utilized. This includes organizing Community engagement, training sessions, and other community-building activities. ETT will also work on creating communication materials and managing the project’s online presence to promote its objectives and outcomes towards the CCIs and CH in general.
