A multimedia exhibition that portrays the Brand Eroica and the beauty of its historical event’s locations

Accompanied by interactive stations, animated artwalls, immersive projections and virtual reality, the exhibition path takes visitors through the territory of Gaiole in Chianti over the years, up to the present day.

Exhibits allow visitors to create their own avatar dressed in Eroica signature garments and watch the testimonies of the protagonists who gave soul and value to the event. Amidst posters and roads that recall the bike routes, visitors arrive at the VR stations, where they can set off on an immersive journey between subjective shots and glides over the castles of the village and the routes of Eroica.

The route

Reception Hall

Touch totems to consult images and fact sheets on the castles of Gaiole. A look at the territory – a distinctive and essential element for the Eroica.

Avatar Hall

Thanks to touch screens, the visitor creates a virtual avatar wearing the characteristic outfits of the Eroica. Upon completion of customization, the resulting digital postcard can be sent via email.

Immersive Hall

Six projectors surround visitors among evocative images of Chianti cycling and atmospheres of the different editions of Eroica from its origins to the present. The bicycle emerges with its full-wall mechanical components, along with the settings.

Gallery

Projections with a strong emotional impact tell the stories of the historical protagonists of Eroica. Between interviews, original footage, archival materials and computer graphics effects, the event is told through the eyes of those who lived it, up to the dialogue with the Tuscan territory. Cycling is associated with fatigue, but also with fun, well painted on the smiles of all participants.

Corridor

Five monitors on which historical posters identifying Eroica events in Tuscany and around the world run on a loop.

Exhibit Hall

The final room accompanies the visitor in an evocative environment, materially reminiscent of the white road, and guides him or her through a physical and thematic journey into the Eroica world.

Touch station

An interactive station is dedicated to the Ciclofficina Eroica, which allows visitors to virtually create and customize their own bicycle, selecting parts and playing with colors. There is, in addition, a quiz to measure one’s skills on the regulations of the event.

VR Corner

Nine VR stations, with 18 total viewers, take spectators on an immersive journey through the territory, flying over the most beautiful castles of Gaiole in Chianti, enjoying a unique vision: a dialogue between architecture and nature, at 360°.
A second Experience features the Eroica experience of the 2023 edition, in which, for the first time, virtual reality footage of the race, captured from multiple points of view, has been taken.
