The eighth International Conference on Marine Data and Information Systems (IMDIS) will be held from 27-29 May 2024 in Bergen, Norway. It will provide an overview of existing information systems to serve the various users of ocean science.

The conference will showcase several systems for online access to data, metadata, and products, communication standards, and technologies adapted to ensure platform interoperability.
During the four main sessions, it will highlight advancements in developing efficient infrastructures for managing large and diverse datasets, standards, interoperable information systems, services, and educational tools.
The ETT Smart City team, consisting of Antonio Novellino, R&D Manager, Valeria Pizziol, Rachele Bordoni, Giulia Dapueto, R&D Project Manager, Beatrice Maddalena Scotto, PhD in Data Management, and Marco Alba, R&D Tech Manager, will be present to assist and actively participate in the global discussion.
On Monday, May 27, during the technical session dedicated to technical developments for marine information and data management, ETT will participate in the Information systems and tools to support Antarctica communities poster.
On Tuesday, May 28, at 11:00, during the session on Products, Information, and Data Knowledge, ETT will participate in the talk EMODnet near real-time river data and land boundary condition services“, while at 17:15, during the INFRA session on Marine Environmental Infrastructures for Observation Data (management and access), will be the turun of the A first roadmap for data management solutions of low-cost ocean observing technology talk.

On Wednesday, May 29, during the session dedicated to services and tools for data in ocean sciences, ETT will participate in the NAUTILOS Data Management Infrastructure and discuss the EMODnet Ingestion and the operational data exchange examples and hot topics poster.

The event will provide an opportunity to engage with the community and discuss other projects where ETT plays a leading role (such as EuroGOOS, EMODnet Chemistry, Blue-Cloud 2026).
