On 12 September, ETT will participate in the eighth edition of the Forum Mondial de la Mer in Bizerte (Tunisia), an international event dedicated to the future of the Mediterranean.
The 2025 edition, entitled ‘From Nice to Bizerte: How Is the Mediterranean doing?’, explores the issues that emerged at the Third UN Conference on Oceans in Nice and the Plastic Treaty negotiations in Geneva, addressing crucial challenges such as governance, the blue economy, illegal fishing, pollution and climate change.
In this context, ETT presents SHARE4MED, a European project co-funded by the Interreg NEXT MED programme, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of Mediterranean municipalities in planning and managing environmental sustainability initiatives. The project, in line with the EU Mission Restore our Oceans and Waters by 2030, involves Italy, Spain, Algeria and Tunisia and includes concrete actions such as the creation of a Shared Transition Agenda, a Governance Dashboard platform to monitor local policies and an experimental pilot project for the restoration of coastal habitats.
ETT is the Lead Partner of the project and coordinates the main Work Packages relating to governance, communication and technological development. Among the most significant outputs, the digital Governance Dashboard will enable authorities in the Mediterranean basin to assess the impact of actions taken to protect coastal areas in real time, while promoting cross-border cooperation and the involvement of local communities.
