From 25 to 28 November, ETT is participating in European Marine Knowledge Week by attending the EMODnet Open Conference 2025 and the Digital Ocean Forum 2025, organised as part of the EDITO project, which coordinates the development of the European Digital Twin Ocean (DTO) platform and represents one of the European Commission’s most ambitious initiatives for the management, simulation and understanding of marine systems.
During the EMODnet Open Conference, which brings together over 130 partner organisations from the European marine data network, ETT confirms its key role in the Physics, Ingestion and Chemistry thematic projects, to which it has been contributing for years with coordination activities, operational flow management and the development of new products in the areas of land-sea exchange. In this context, Antonio Novellino, Head of ETT’s Smart Cities BU, will represent EMODnet Physics as coordinator and facilitator of dialogue between the various stakeholders in the programme, as well as being co-speaker and speaker in the “EMODnet Community Insights” session scheduled for Tuesday 25 November (16:50–18:00). The session will provide a space for direct discussion between experts, partners and stakeholders in the EMODnet community to discuss processes, results and future prospects in view of the programme’s evolution and the “Vision 2035” that will guide its growth in the coming years.
In the following days, the Digital Ocean Forum 2025 will continue the dialogue initiated at the conference with workshops and technical and political discussions dedicated to the development of the Digital Twin Ocean, the digital platform that will enable the simulation of marine scenarios and support informed decisions for the protection, sustainable management and planning of European maritime space. In this context, ETT will participate as a technical expert in support of EMODnet, contributing to discussions with the scientific community, institutional bodies and industry representatives to outline common strategies for access, interoperability and sharing of marine data.
By participating in these two important events, ETT renews its commitment to actively contributing to the growth of European programmes for environmental data management, promoting constructive dialogue between research, technology and governance. This contribution highlights the company’s experience in the marine and digital fields and confirms its desire to promote a shared, sustainable and innovation-oriented vision for the future of the European ocean.
