How are local public administrations’ cultural management models evolving thanks to Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funds?

Giovanni Verreschi, CEO of ETT S.p.A. – part of the Dedagroup, shares his insights in an interview with Gianluca Marcellino for Agenda Digitale, a leading publication on innovation in public administration.

In the interview, Verreschi highlights the pivotal role of the PNRR Borghi funding programme in reshaping how local governments approach cultural management. The introduction of measurable objectives and financial continuity provided by the PNRR funds has enabled a real step change in the sector.

Among the most tangible outcomes, he points in particular to the decentralization of tourist flows, which allows lesser-known areas to be enhanced and promotes a more sustainable development model.

The interview is part of a broader discussion on how EU funding for 2021–2027 can support the digital transformation of public administration, with a focus on including local communities and smaller municipalities in the process.
