A collaborative project to Observe, Protect and Sustain European Seas

LandSeaLot studies the point of contact between land and sea by mapping existing sensor systems and proposing more efficient usage methodologies by performing a gap analysis and integrating citizen science dynamics. The project involves several coastal areas in Europe and aims at improving the data value chain through the co-design of a common observation and collection strategy. This is made possible through the tested, improved and guided use of low-cost technologies by citizens and support from the European marine network.
The selected technologies will be implemented in Integration Labs that will analyze different areas: Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, North Sea and Baltic Sea, with a range of watersheds, tidal and meteorological regimes.

Observation capacity will be increased through tested, improved and guided use of low-cost technology by citizens, facilitated by the network of European marinas. The technologies selected will be piloted in Integration Labs (ILs) together with improved and integrated in situ and EO observation techniques and model outputs.

ETT will be responsible for integrating the data and then proposing it to the scientific community, helping to promote standardization of observation and information collection methodologies.
