New levels of interpretation and an emotional narrative introduction to explore the diffusion of Leonardo’s language in Milan.
Discovering the artists and their works from new perspectives: an emotional and interactive experience
An engaging visual narrative, integrated with AI-generated animations, welcomes visitors and connects them emotionally to the exhibition path of the renewed Room XXI of the Pinacoteca of Sforza Castle in Milan. Entirely redesigned, the room is dedicated to the artists who were part of Leonardo da Vinci’s workshop or were profoundly influenced by his artistic language.
Two interactive touch stations guide visitors through the main thematic paths, offering an in-depth discovery of the Leonardeschi artists and the fourteen lunettes from the Casa degli Atellani, with the opportunity to explore the historical context of the artworks and the stories of the individuals portrayed, to discover how their style reflects a continuity with Leonardo’s artistic language, and to delve into restoration techniques from multiple perspectives, through descriptions, videos, and detailed zoomable images.
An innovative approach to restoration and diagnostics
The in-depth focus on diagnostic techniques is complemented by a presentation of the tools and results of the artwork’s restoration. Visitors can also explore an interactive before/after comparison by sliding over the images, allowing even non-specialists to visually appreciate the intervention.
Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, the project was conceived and developed by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Milan – Castello Sforzesco Museums, Archaeological Museums, and Museum of the Risorgimento.
