As part of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), taking place from June 2–13, the EU Digital Ocean Pavilion will serve as a central hub for showcasing the European Union’s progress in monitoring and understanding the ocean. This hybrid space—both physical and digital—explores the concept of the Digital Twin of the Ocean through three thematic areas: INSPIRE, ENGAGE, and DECIDE.
Within the INSPIRE area, which hosts events and in-depth sessions, ETT will play a leading role as a strategic expert on issues shaping the future of our oceans.
On June 4, Antonio Novellino will speak at two key events:
– “NAUTILOS: Innovating Ocean Sensing for a Sustainable Future”, presenting the European project of the same name, which aims to revolutionize marine monitoring through sustainable and cutting-edge solutions.
– “Spoke 3 of the RAISE project – Robotics and AI for Socio-Economic Empowerment”, outlining the latest developments of Spoke 3 within the RAISE innovation ecosystem in the Liguria Region, focused on the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to promote sustainability and socio-economic growth.
On June 9, during the session “Action for SDG 14: Solutions”, Novellino will present OLAMUR, a project aimed at the sustainable development of low-trophic aquaculture. Then, on June 11, Andrew Meijers from BAS will delve into OCEAN:ICE, a European research initiative on climate change and the polar regions, in which ETT is a project partner.
The ENGAGE area will serve as the virtual heart of the Pavilion, offering immersive and interactive experiences centered on exploring the Digital Twin of the Ocean. Among the highlights is the official audiovisual production of the RAISE Ecosystem, created by ETT.
