Casa Leopardi Museum

Italian cultural brand known all over the world, undisputed icon of Italian literature, Giacomo Leopardi is now also becoming a multimedia museum. In the ancient stables of Leopardi House a new space is avaiable to know and deepen, with the help of immersive technologies, the secret aspects of the life and works of the poet.

The installation was designed as an immersive environment that refers to the life and home of Leopardi thanks to images and projections in videomapping.

Nota simple film but a virtual visit to the rooms of Casa Leopardi to learn about the spaces and characters that shaped and inspired the famous poet’s verses. The multimedia set-up was realised by ETT through a 12-metre wraparound video projection system developed on three walls and with the aid of 6 video projectors to give visitors a faithful reconstruction of Casa Leopardi and, above all, immerse them in its history, from his childhood, to his mad and desperate study, to his sleepless nights and his famous infinity.

The storytelling focuses on the relationship between the poet and the surroundings of the palace where he spent his childhood and youth, with a particular reference to his father’s library, the place of his formation where his first poetic and non-fiction production came to life.
