The rediscovery of Paganini, his life, his instruments and his places. A technological multisensory space

Inside the Paganini Rooms in Palazzo Tursi dedicated to Niccolò Paganini and his instruments, the visitor rediscovers a series of display elements and multimedia technologies implemented by ETT aimed at enriching the visitor experience. The first room of the visit, Paganini and Genoa, recounts the most important aspects of Paganini’s biography and his relationship with Genoa through video projections and in-depth studies. The third room, the Violin Room, houses Paganini’s two most beloved and used instruments, the Cannone, built by Guarnieri del Gesù and the Sivori, made by Vuillaume.

Room 3 – Paganini and Genoa

The environment of the first room is designed in such a way as to allow an in-depth study of the life and instruments of the famous violinist through documents and videos. Once inside, the visitor is welcomed by a multimedia station consisting of a touch screen and a video projecting some famous phrases by Niccolò Paganini and other important people of the time on the wall.

From this console, visitors can freely consult the documentary material or start the video projection. The multisensory experience also becomes complete thanks to the inclusion of an audio system accompanying the projections.

Room 3 – The “Cannon” and “Sivori” violins

The third room consecrates the two historical violins Cannone and Sivori and celebrates their power and fullness of sound.

Upon entering this room, visitors are greeted by a dim light and a touch lectern that allows them to manually initiate the sound experience of the two violins.

In fact, the console features 10 buttons corresponding to 10 major works of the violinist: five dedicated to Cannon and five dedicated to Sivori.

Music is the element that closes the visit and that the visitor can finally appreciate as the perfect complement to the scenery of Palazzo Tursi. Also thanks to the use of new lighting technology, the elegant rooms and extraordinary environment now breathe the atmosphere of Paganini’s time.
