25 years of sports achievements in an “Immersive Cube” at the Sports Festival – ETT has developed a special installation for the anniversary of Stelle nello Sport
A “cube” to immerse yourself in 25 years of great sports moments branded “Liguria.” The Immersive Chamber of Stelle nello Sport, created by ETT, will be featured from May 24 to 26 at the Porto Antico in Genoa as part of the Sports Festival.
The videos in the immersive cube retrace 25 years of achievements by Ligurian athletes: the viewer can relive the emotions of those moments, empathizing with the athlete and rediscovering the sense of pride and identity that only great sports successes can evoke. Pride and identity that, combined with a strong sense of belonging, take on even deeper meaning for the Ligurian audience when local athletes triumph.
The timeline flows quickly as images of the most significant moments alternate on the screens, covering all the sports that have honored the region, both individually and as teams. Teams and athletes, captured in action, continue to engage viewers who can not only rewatch the most adrenaline-pumping phases of the competitions but also immerse themselves in the race atmosphere and, in some way, become part of it.
A spectacular and emotional installation featuring 30 athletes or teams as protagonists of the immersive videos. Almost 9 minutes of footage edited and adapted for immersive projection on 40 square meters of projection surface. Feats that will go down in history: to be relived by those who were there, to be experienced by those who will be there, because Sport is above all a continuous passing of the torch.
ETT, a Genoese company of the SCAI Group that designs and produces multimedia setups for culture, tourism, and events internationally, was responsible for the design, development, supply, and installation of the hardware, as well as the production of all audiovisual content for the 25Y IMMERSIVE BOX immersive cube, designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Stelle nello Sport, a project that promotes events and activities to enhance all sports and spread sports culture and values in Liguria. After the grand premiere on April 4 at Palazzo Ducale, the immersive chamber will be at the Sports Festival from May 24 to 26, 2024, at the Magazzini del Cotone, Module 7 of the exhibition spaces.
Seamless wall-to-wall multi-projections connect the visitor emotionally with the content through spectacular and rhythmic videos. The technique used transforms the surfaces into ultra-high-definition screens. Immersion is emphasized by mirrored floors and ceilings that reflect and amplify the evocative power of the images through a play of perspective. The sound design was carefully curated to accompany the immersive vision and constitutes a fully-fledged narrative level that engages the visitor and guides them through the experience.
From the “legendary” Italy-New Zealand match at Ferraris in 2000 to the Davis Cup victory with Ligurian Arnaldi in 2023. The emotional journey develops through the feats of Alessandro Petacchi, Alex Liddi, Pietro and Gianfranco Sibello, Silvia Salis, Paola Fraschini, the Settebello, Bianca Del Carretto, Vittorio Podestà, Francesco Bocciardo, Martina Mongiardino, Niccolò Canepa, Asia and Alice D’Amato, the Derby della Lanterna, Luminosa Bogliolo, Pro Scogli Chiavari, Fabio Fognini, the Galeone di Genova, Pietro Sibello, Viviana Bottaro, Lorenzo Sommariva, Alberto Razzetti, Chiara Rebagliati, Pierre Bruno, Michela Braga, Linda Cerruti and the National Artistic Swimming Team, Francesca Clapcich and Paolo Porro (www.stellenellosport.com/progetto/25yimmersivebox).
In the year when Genoa is the European Capital of Sport, Stelle nello Sport has further increased its commitment and events to promote “sports culture” in the region, with particular attention to young people. More than 200 students will visit the Immersive Chamber on the morning of May 24, and attendance will be truly extraordinary throughout all three days of the Sports Festival.
On this occasion, visitors will be offered a short questionnaire on the perception of the level of accessibility and inclusivity of services in the urban space they frequent. Everyone can respond anonymously by quickly scanning a QR code. In this way, ETT listens to citizens and gathers up-to-date insights to develop new smart solutions for citizens in an ever-evolving context.
