An immersive journey into the heart of the Chiaromonte dynasty

As part of Agrigento Italian Capital of Culture 2025, the Valley of the Temples Archaeological and Landscape Park entrusted ETT with the design and creation of the exhibition The Chiaromonte Family and Agrigento: Power, Magnificence, and Devotion.
Spread across two historic venues — the Church of San Lorenzo and the Monastery of Santo Spirito — the exhibition explores the deep connection between the city and one of the most powerful noble families of medieval Sicily.

Conceived as a true experiential journey, the project aims to convey the symbolic, political, and cultural influence of the Chiaromonte dynasty through a narrative that merges historical accuracy, visual storytelling, and immersive technology.

From the outset, ETT designed a Key Visual identity that captures the soul of the exhibition: the Chiaromonte family crest stands at the center of an elegant, solemn graphic design, built around a color palette inspired by ancient parchments, noble red, and the deep blues of Gothic manuscripts.
Two versions were developed — one light, one dark — to suit the distinctive character of each venue. The typographic choices balance refinement and legibility, providing a consistent and cohesive visual language across all materials, from exhibition panels to digital media.

The exhibition layout was designed to harmonize with the architecture of the spaces: in the Church of San Lorenzo, the setting adopts a more academic and documentary tone, while in the Monastery of Santo Spirito, the experience becomes more immersive and narrative-driven.
Graphic panels and display cases blend seamlessly with frescoes, arches, and alcoves, shaping a fluid and engaging visitor path. The result is a layered storytelling experience, where original architectural features and contemporary interpretations enrich one another without overshadowing the historical beauty of the locations.

At the heart of the exhibition, located inside the Monastery of Santo Spirito, lies the Immersive Cube — a striking multimedia installation designed to transport visitors into the 14th century.
Through panoramic projections on three walls, animated illustrations, and performances by actors in period costume, the wedding of Luchina Chiaromonte and Enrico Rosso comes to life — a symbolic event of medieval court culture.
The scene is enhanced by an original soundtrack that reinterprets medieval music using authentic period instruments, recreating a rich, atmospheric soundscape.
Every element — visual, auditory, and spatial — contributes to turning the visit into a powerful, immersive journey through time, where history is not just observed but truly felt.
