On April 8, 2025, Genoa will host the Italian stop of the FAIR National Roadshow series, titled “FAIR Assessments for Research Quality Evaluation and Reproducibility.” The event, promoted by the FAIR-IMPACT project in collaboration with ETT and the Data Stewards of the University of Bologna, will take place at the Magazzini dell’Abbondanza in the BlueDistrict and will also be accessible online.
ETT is co-organizing the initiative, bringing its expertise in data management, consolidated through national and European projects focused on the accessibility and interoperability of scientific data.
The program includes two main sessions. The morning session will focus on the current landscape of Italian open science policies, featuring discussions on the National Plan, the emerging national competence center, and the ITRN – Italian Reproducibility Network. A dedicated segment will explore FAIR practices applied to data, with particular attention to accessibility and interoperability within the urban context of Genoa.
In the afternoon, real-world examples of FAIR principles adoption by Italian scientific communities will be presented, particularly in the fields of environmental emergency management and oceanic and marine sciences—sectors where ETT is actively engaged in data enhancement and sustainability projects. Antonio Novellino, representing ETT, will moderate one of the sessions on FAIR best practices, facilitating discussions among various scientific communities.
The event is primarily aimed at the Italian data steward community but is open to all professionals involved in research data management, including support staff, researchers, and decision-makers from universities and research institutions.
