ETT will once again take part in the CHNT – Conference on Cultural Heritage and New Technologies, an international conference on cultural heritage held every year in Vienna. This year’s 28th edition will take place from 15 to 17 November 2023.
For this important event, ETT has been selected to present the paper “Culturgame.it presents AquaMANN – A new video game for the National Archaeological Museum of Naples”.

The Culturgame industrial research project uses an experimental approach to study games applied to the enhancement of cultural heritage and the dissemination of science. The common thread of the phygitals and video games developed during the project is water, a crucial resource in the history of human societies and a vital part of ecosystems. Three demonstration sites were selected, each with an on-site solution designed for use in the museum and an off-site solution for remote use. MANN (National Archaeological Museum of Naples) is a pioneer in promoting and producing games to enhance historical
and archaeological heritage. As well as producing the sequel to Father and Son, the museum has recently experimented with traditional analogue games, creating a 3D printed chess set with pieces inspired by masterpieces from the museum’s collections. Games, in all their forms, are a powerful tool for the National Archaeological Museum of Naples to create engagement and reach new audiences. The aim of the AquaMANN video game is to raise the awareness of the younger public with regard to the knowledge, respect and therefore the conscious use of water. It is a journey through the world of antiquity, with the help of museum exhibits as examples.
