The link between global and local, technology and citizens is the guiding theme of this year’s AIVP Conference, to be held on November 16, 17 and 18, 2023 in Venice.
Social consensus and dialogue with citizens are the essential foundation of innovative seaports.
Venice is an extreme example of some of the challenges discussed on this occasion: threatened by rising sea levels and flooding, often at the forefront of social issues such as tourism, and yet protecting local culture and heritage. AIVP, in cooperation with the Port Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea of Venice, at the historic Arsenal, a symbolic place of the city’s economic, political and military power, will foster the dialogue with citizens on the implementation of solutions for the energy transition, while also discussing climate change and resilient port cities, the balancing of tourism and the blue economy with local priorities, and port-city interface projects that can connect citizens with their harbour. ETT, bronze sponsor of the event, will be present at AIVP from November 16 to 18 with a stand where it will be possible to learn more about all its solutions and projects.
Developed by Space, an ETT Group company, for the Port System Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea, the”Virtual Museum of the Ports of Venice and Chioggia”; the Android and iOs app offers an immersive experience that allows AIVP participants to explore maritime traditions, historical structures and modern port operations. Combining history and technology, the app invites people to immerse themselves in the past, understand the present and imagine the future of Venice’s maritime port culture.
