The new state-of-the-art tools for measuring aquatic risk and pollution

AquaBiosens will produce and test next-generation portable sensors to measure genomic environmental biological and chemical data to detect contaminants of emerging interest, microbial biohazards, and heavy metals in salt and fresh waters.
The goal is to make monitoring more efficient and widely accessible by developing new analytical techniques based on state-of-the-art technologies coupled with innovative sensors to be commercialized in the future and to increase sampling points in Europe.

Low-cost manufacturing strategies will ensure that the technologies developed are accessible to end users, such as industry operators and governmental control agencies responsible for environmental monitoring. Real-time digital data management will enable a continuous flow of information from sensors to the Web, including a dedicated real-time dashboard.
