A multi and inter-disciplinary journey focussing on the figure of Enrico Fermi and his great discoveries

An itinerary that follows the dissemination philosophy of the Fermi Centre

On 28 October 2019, the institutional headquarters of the Centro Fermi (Historical Museum of Physics and ‘Enrico Fermi’ Study and Research Centre) in Rome was inaugurated in the famous building on Via Panisperna, which has finally been renovated.

Technology revolutionises spaces

ETT built the new scenographic museum layout on this occasion, with new structures and settings created to rethink space and its use, transforming places and enabling constant interaction with multimedia exhibits.

Exclusively designed by ETT is a slider located at the entrance – which prepares visitors for the visit and shows a preview of the Fermi Centre‘s projects – and a touch table to explore the Centre’s themes through a series of multimedia contents.

The visit app developed by ETT allows users to discover the museum in a simple and comprehensive way, enabling greater user involvement through new images and curiosities. A dozen significant milestones in Fermi’s scientific life have been identified, around which an itinerary has been defined to offer a new, engaging and exciting interpretation. The application presents an innovative way of visiting the museum with several levels of detail thanks to the aid of beacon technology. Walking through the museum rooms, the user will receive a suggestion of nearby points of interest. By clicking on each point of interest, the user will have access to a detail card consisting of an image gallery and an in-depth text.
