Santa Giulia Museum
An accessible tool that can transport the user to otherwise inaccessible or unexplored places
The Santa Giulia Museum unveils two areas inaccessible to the disabled public, the Lower Hall of Santa Maria in Solario and the Crypt of San Salvatore.
Thanks to 360° technology, the differently-abled user uses a VR cardboard and a related qr code to discover and interact with the two environments, assuming the point of view of the director.
Virtual reality thus becomes a valuable support for museum operators to ensure the usability of spaces for people with reduced or limited motor skills. The use of an object as simple as the cardboard allows the user to go beyond traditional boundaries, into areas that were previously accessible.
