The new official guide to Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper by ETT

cenacolo vinciano con sovrapposizione delle linee di prospettiva, modalità innovativa per fruire dell'opera presente nell'app di visita cenacolo vinciano sviluppata da ETT

Over the last year, on the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death, the Polo Museale Regionale della Lombardia (Museums of the Lombardy Region) and the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano (Leonardo Da Vinci’s Last Supper Museum) have begun a series of projects which aim to make museums like the Last Supper more accessible to the public. These sites, due to strict conservative requirements, are difficult places to visit.

This consideration led to the decision to open the Refectory to everyone – virtually at least. This was made possible by important projects that exploit the digital technology available on the new mobile App. Developed by ETT for free download onto personal devices, the visit experience is even more comprehensive and engaging.

The new free App may be downloaded from Android and IOS stores and takes museum visitors on a unique tour. The Last Supper’s charm is revealed through precise narration, taking visitors by the hand and helping them to appreciate the technical and compositional choices made by Leonardo. The Stories section is dedicated to further historical and artistic information that helps to put the painting into context through text cards supported by visual-aid apparatus including 360-degree videos and pictures.

A specific tour has been designed for families with children, with two videos presenting the Last Supper and four interactive games.

Lastly, to increase comprehension of Leonardo’s work and the vastness of his imprint on the Lombardy region, and on Milan in particular, “Leonardo itineraries” are offered. A map shows the places where Leonardo worked or where his works are kept and gives essential information.

The new Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper app is designed for everyone. It comes in eight languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese), with inclusive and fully usable visit routes guided by audio tracks and full transcriptions.
