Over the last year, on the 500th<\/sup> anniversary of Leonardo\u2019s death, the Polo Museale Regionale della Lombardia<\/em> (Museums of the Lombardy Region)<\/strong> and the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano<\/em> (Leonardo Da Vinci\u2019s Last Supper Museum) <\/strong>have begun a series of projects which aim to make museums like the Last Supper more accessible to the public.<\/strong> These sites, due to strict conservative requirements, are difficult places to visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This consideration led to the decision to open the Refectory to everyone \u2013 virtually at least. This was made possible by important projects that exploit the digital technology available on the new\u00a0mobile App. Developed by ETT<\/strong>\u00a0for free download onto personal devices, the visit experience is even more comprehensive and engaging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new free App may be downloaded from Android and IOS stores<\/strong> and takes museum visitors on a unique tour. The Last Supper\u2019s charm is revealed through precise narration,<\/strong> taking visitors by the hand and helping them to appreciate the technical and compositional choices made by Leonardo. The Stories section<\/strong> is dedicated to further historical and artistic information that helps to put the painting into context through text cards supported by visual-aid apparatus including 360-degree videos <\/strong><\/a>and pictures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A specific tour has been designed for families with children, with two videos presenting the Last Supper and four interactive games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, to increase comprehension of Leonardo\u2019s work and the vastness of his imprint on the Lombardy region, and on Milan in particular, \u201cLeonardo itineraries\u201d are offered. A map shows the places where Leonardo worked or where his works are kept and gives essential information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s Last Supper app is designed for everyone. It comes in eight languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese), with inclusive and fully usable visit routes guided by audio tracks and full transcriptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
